The captain of the plane said to us in a very calm voice, “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re having a problem with one of the engines. There’s no need to panic but keep your seatbelts fastened. We are heading back to

Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.” I felt a pain in my chest and people started to cry. After some time, we landed successfully back at the airport. I sighed with relief! Since then, I have decided not to travel in a plane.

A Diary Entry

Saturday, Jan 6,2023

I got up early in the morning today as I had already planned to visit my grandparents in the rural area of Palpa. I had not visited them for a long a time and they missed me a lot. I reached the Butwal Bus station and got on the bus for Palpa at 7 am. I enjoyed the scene through the window. The road had a lot of turnings that made me feel dizzy. The village road is often narrow and uphill. It was not unusual for me but I was very tired. When I reached home, my grandma was waiting for me with a plate of rice pudding because she knows that I love rice pudding the most.

Writing II (page 49)

Write a short diary entry about one of your days this week. You can use Reading II as a model. Include the following.

  1. What activities you did

  1. How you felt when you got involved in those activities

  1. what you would have done differently

Answer

Dear Diary,

This week has been an unpredictable collection of emotions and experiences, but today positions out as a day of self-reflection and growth. After a refreshing breakfast, I headed to the gym for a workout session. Later, I decided to try a new hobby: painting. The act of creating something from scratch brought me immense joy and a sense of inner peace. However, I could have approached the day differently.

Instead of rushing through my workout, I should have focused on each movement mindfully, paying attention to form and breathing. Additionally, I could have researched painting techniques beforehand to enhance their experience and produce a better result. I will strive to apply these lessons, embracing a mindful approach to my endeavors and seeking ways to expand my horizons further.
